I have a LJ post marked "private" and it has links to all the pets I've ever had, and every now and then I click on some of them to see how they're doing? Is this just completely weird or do any of you do something like that? Do I have a right to be a little miffed when I see the pets in bad moods so often?
edit: Also, one of the pets gives me the error "Sorry, there is no Neopet by that name in Neopia." How does that sort of thing usually happen? I don't remember who I sent it to, so I can't ask them what happened (if they're even still there).

OHMY 10TH BIRTHDAY AVATAR?! :O!
I knew that the usual 'Happy Birthday!' avatar is meant to be available on the 15th, but I wasn't too excited, having grabbed it last year. But then I went to grab my usual gift, and BAM! There was something new :O

So, I've been wondering if Tangor can make anything with the Leftover Scrap Metal from the Return of Sloth plot. I didn't keep any, as it was cheap and useless, but JellyNeo suggests it goes for about 75NP. It's in the shops right now for, at minimum, 50K. I don't see any mention anywhere that it's good for anything, but I'm forced to wonder. Anybody have some lying around? If so, willing to bring it to Tangor to see if he can do anything with it?

so recently i've been trying to trade away a few of my pets. as you all know, often times the pound boards are packed with rude people who try to get in the way of your trading, or vote seekers who just want some beauty contest votes and "to wish you good luck".
my way of coping with this? getting a little buzzed. i've found that i'm incredibly nice to those who are rude and end up voting for those spammers who, when i am sober, annoy the crap out of me. i also respond kindly to offers that would generally make me angry while sober (i.e. a striped vwn lenny for my uc rg cybunny).
is anyone else like this? i feel so dirty playing neopets while i'm drinking // have been drinking.

| Suggestion/discussion: expensive customs trading |

I know that the rules of this comm (which I adore btw, I mean the comm) say that we can only post UFA or trade LE or avatar pets, and I can see a good reason for it. I mean, if we all tried to trade or re-home our Cloud, Ghost, Spotted, etc pets, the comm would be flooded. So, yes, I agree with this logic.
On the other hand, imagine this situation. You have a decently named common pet of expensive colour. Say, Plushie. Or Maraquan. The pet is pretty but isn't your dreamie. To Pound? Mmm, too good for that. You check the list of dream pets but nobody here seems to have this very species/colour among their dreamies. To keep? Doesn't really click with you. Boards are scary. Frankly, they are, especially the Pound one. You'll get lots of unequal offers, begging, rudeness, cancelled agreements, you'll have to deal with people you don't know, and all that stuff.
The ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) pick_a_pet comm, well, it's a) not posted to as often as n_a and more people frequent n_a than p_a_p, b) the emphasis there is on adopting out rather than trading, c) I'd want to give members here a first chance on the harder to get pets.
But the main thing is, I want to do such an emotionally involving thing as rehoming or trading a good pet with a familiar crowd, in a safe environment. Those people I've seen around. Those with whom we helped each other with Faerie Quests, tips on games, customisation, etc. Call it trust issues but with the numbers of scammers and irresponsible or plain too young people playing NP, it's not surprising one would have trust issues with this game, is it?
So, I have a few suggestions and would like to hear the opinions of the mods here and of the other Neopian adults.
One is to maybe allow UFA and trading posts for common pets with colours over 1 mln. I don't think that there would be too many posts with such trades to clutter the comm, but then you might know better than me.
Another one is a so-called pet trading post. Something like this: if somebody wants to trade a pet, they look at today's posts and if there's no trading post, make one, like, "Pet trades for 11.14.2009" and add their offer as a first comment.
There can be other ways, I'm sure, but nothing comes to mind at the moment. What do you guys think?

I just got the packrat avatar. :) I got this largely to people here's generosity and giveaways, so I've decided to do my own!
Rather than just give away things randomly.. I've decided on a fairly specific theme.
Please comment here if you are collecting anything.. from jelly to berries to balloons. You might get several items, you might get none (if I have nothing of that type) or you might get something you already have.. Hopefully just the first of those options though. ;)
Oh and I have a fairly busy weekend/week.. tomorrow I'll be fencing for 8 hours straight. So it may take me a while to get back to everyone, but don't worry - I will!

It took me forever to reach 2500+ on the Cave Glider game because it was running really slow on my computer. If anyone else has been having this problem, change the bold word in the link to either medium or low. This makes flash run in a lower quality. I put it on medium, and that helped me get the Deployed Parachute.

P.P.S I read the giant AotA cogs post (right now I think it has 83 comments). I know frickinmuck said that the giant post would be final on allowed on Moltara activities, petpets, gears, etc. I know this can be considered a Moltara activity, but I decided to make a new entry since most people wouldn't expect to find game help in the cogs section. If this is not allowed, I'll delete this or move it to the giant AotA post.
